This high-tech luxury cottage, the newest offering on Velika Planina (as of April 2025), features an exceptional view of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps range and the Gorenjska region. It includes all you could hope for, to enjoy a relaxed, carefree holiday in the mountains, complete with modern tech devices should you wish to access high-speed internet via a tablet of smartphone or even with a connected TV and SONOS audio system. The cottage can be heated or cooled to suit your needs. Extra comfort is provided by the underfloor heating system, thoughtfully designed to keep every living area cozy and warm all year round. The fireplace adds warmth or a touch of romance. Inside the cottage you’ll find a kitchen fitted out with all you’ll need, as well as a living room with a large table. There’s a warm shower with a radiator for heating towels. Additional luxury is offered by a stone-carved wine cellar with an average temperature, year-round, of 3-8 degrees. Plus, there’s your own Finnish sauna in a hut next door. The cottage can accommodate up to 10 adults.
The kitchen contains all you’ll need, including an induction stovetop, electric oven with your choice of steam or microwave heating, a refrigerator with freezer, dishes, cooking utensils, kitchen towels, dinner service and basic food supplies (coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, oil).
You can enjoy the spectacular view from your private terrace, which includes two large wooden benches and a table suitable for 10 people and a masonry barbecue grill and grilling equipment for your picnic needs. Sun loungers are also at your disposal.
We’ve provided the best available beds in the cottage. In the upper flor, there is a bedroom with three double beds, which conjure the magic of sleeping in a loft with ambient adjustable colored lighting. It can accomodate up to six people. There are two master bedrooms on the ground floor. Each has a double bed for two people. Games for young and old are available in the living room.
Pamper yourself in the idyllic Finnish sauna, located at your own hut next door. The heat emerges from a electric stove made by the top Finnish manufacturer, Harvia.
With an average year-round temperature of 3-8 degrees Celsius in the cellar, it’s perfect for wines (Velika Planina’s temperature is 2-7 degrees lower than down in the valley). The cellar is stocked with quality Slovenian wines. The basement also contains a spacious refrigerator for storing food and drinks.
The cottage comes fitted with an iPad for home control, monitoring of all devices, review of video content if you need instructions for any of the cottage’s services and devices, a 65″ Sony LCD TV, a SONOS sound system, 60M/20M internet connection, four air conditioners, underfloor heating, and a heat recovery ventilation system.
The chalet includes a multitude of board games, a book corner and sleds which are available during winter.
- Starting point: Velika Planina cable car’s base station (location: 46.30533077570222, 14.608958899670634)
- Take the cable car from base station to the top station.
- From the upper gondola station, continue along the road to the right of the concrete stairs leading to the chairlift. Follow the road for about 650m, to the left turn (north).
- Here you leave the main road and turn left onto the cart track, which takes you to the first huts in 300m. Pinja hut is the first hut on your left.
